Mostly users believe the slowness of their internet is due to their service provider. I will provide you some tips which i recommend to follow to speed up your Internet Explorer browser performance. The two main reasons for the slowness are:
1. PC software maintenance required. Check my Recommendation section:
2. Internet Explorer components, activeX controls, toolbars, and add-ons running in background. Below are a list of tips to help accelerate your Internet Explorer brwoser performance:
To clean out the components and ActiveX controls: Open your Internet Explorer browser, click on "Tools" --> "Internet Options" --> "Settings" under Browser History section under "General tab --> click on "View Objects" --> click on each object in there and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard to remove them.
Toolbars, how many do you have installed? I recommend to only have one toolbar. The presence of having 2 or more toolbars causes slowness when opening up your internet browser. To remove the unnecessary toolbars, go to: "Start" menu --> "Control Panel" --> "Add/Remove Programs" --> remove the unwanted toolbars.
Disable plug-ins: Under Internet Explorer options, click on the "Programs" tab --> click on "Manage add-ons" button --> remove/disable accelerators if you have IE8, otherwise disable add-ons which you don't normally use. Don't disable all add-ons as some are Important for Internet Explorer to run webfunctions properly.
Once the above steps have been implemented, i recommend deleting your temp internet files by going to Internet options, under "General" tab click on "Delete..." or "Delete Temp files".
You should notice now a speed increase in the performance of your Internet Explorer browser when opening it up and browsing through web pages on-line.
Feel free to respond with questions if not sure on whether to disable a certain add-on or not.
